The Six Paths Warrant is the material required to Soul Temper the Outlaw Warblade in Phantom Blade Zero, but it sits in a part of Meigu Lake that can only be reached with the Illusory Pipa. To get there, collect the instrument’s three parts, ask Myst to repair it in Pangzhen, then return to the Meigu Songhouse Dock Bell. TheGamer published a step-by-step route, and PowerPyx lists the same general location in its Meigu Lake collectible guide.

This makes the Warrant a mid-to-late-game objective rather than an item picked up as soon as the sword becomes available. The Outlaw Warblade is obtained early and can remain useful, but its special ability is gated behind a mist barrier. Below are the prerequisites, the correct entrance, and what to do after collecting the material. The guide also separates the Warrant from the pieces needed to repair the Illusory Pipa.

What the Six Paths Warrant does

The Six Paths Warrant is a weapon tempering material. It lets you Soul Temper the Outlaw Warblade and unlock the Ruthless Outlaw ability. TheGamer describes the sword as a weapon that restores health when it deals damage, and presents the tempering as a way to improve its usefulness later in the campaign. The Warrant is not a new weapon or wearable gear; it is consumed as part of an upgrade.

The guide reproduces the ability description as follows:

“Damage dealt to enemies increases with the amount of recoverable HP.” — Ruthless Outlaw text, as transcribed by TheGamer.

The sentence describes a relationship with recoverable health, but does not give values per hit or a complete formula. It would therefore be inaccurate to promise a fixed damage bonus without in-game testing.

Tempering also costs 5,000 Remnant Dust. Before spending the rare material, make sure the Outlaw Warblade is part of your setup. If another weapon is your main choice, the ability may not be immediately useful. You can keep the Warrant until you decide which sword you want to upgrade.

Prerequisite: assemble and repair the Illusory Pipa

The barrier on the route only opens after the Illusory Pipa is complete. The instrument is a Phantom Edge that can clear certain mist barriers. Its three pieces appear at different points in the campaign, so returning to Meigu before finishing that sequence will not unlock the passage.

Once you have all three pieces, go to Pangzhen and speak to Myst at the Order’s underground tavern. She repairs the instrument and unlocks the Illusory Pipa as a Phantom Edge. TheGamer notes that this requires significant story progress; the pieces may appear in your inventory before the route to the upgrade is accessible.

If the option to dispel mist is unavailable, check that all three parts are in your inventory and speak to Myst again after collecting them. Also confirm that the Pipa is available among your Phantom Edges. The Six Paths Warrant does not replace any of those pieces, and it is not awarded for defeating Yan Qiansui: that boss is connected to the Pipa Strings, while the Warrant is in a different part of the region.

Route to the item in Meigu Lake

With the Illusory Pipa ready, return to the Meigu Songhouse Dock Bell in Meigu Lake. The route is near the area where the instrument’s Strings are found. There are two mist-covered passages nearby; for the Warrant, choose the entrance farther back in the arena, leading toward the large building, rather than the smaller opening near the gazebo.

Use the Illusory Pipa to clear the mist and go through. On a PlayStation controller, TheGamer lists R2 for activating the Phantom Edge; on PC, the input depends on the player’s key mapping. After entering, turn left and follow the narrow path around the wall. Keep to the edge of the structure until you see a glowing item on the ground, near bodies. Interact with it to collect the Six Paths Warrant.

PowerPyx confirms the same general area: from Meigu Songhouse Dock, head east, use the Pipa to remove the mist blocking the route to the larger building, then look for the material at the end near bodies. The two descriptions work together: the arena reference helps identify which entrance to take, while the eastward direction and building help confirm the route. If you clear the smaller passage first, return to the Bell and look for the farther path.

The item is a small glow and can be easy to miss if you run through the center of the route. Stay close to the wall on the left, follow its curve, and watch the ground instead of looking for a chest or an enemy carrying the material. The guide describes it as an object in the environment, not as an automatic reward for winning a fight in the area.

How to apply the Outlaw Warblade temper

After picking up the Six Paths Warrant, return to the Meigu Songhouse Dock Bell and open the weapon tempering option. Select the Outlaw Warblade and check the displayed cost before confirming: the upgrade requires 5,000 Remnant Dust in addition to the material. When complete, the sword gains Ruthless Outlaw. If the option does not appear, verify that you selected the right weapon and that the story has unlocked Soul Tempering.

The ability is described as increasing damage according to the amount of recoverable HP. That may suit a playstyle that trades lost health for aggression, but the guide provides no multiplier or universal build recommendation. Test the change against comparable enemies and observe the result without assuming that it replaces careful dodging, blocking, or healing.

Do not confuse Soul Tempering with a weapon’s regular upgrade path. It is a special option tied to a particular material and ability. If you are saving Remnant Dust for other weapons, the decision can wait: finding the Warrant does not force you to spend it right away. Holding the material until you know which equipment suits your style can prevent a cost that may not help in the next area.

Common mistakes and how to confirm the route

The most common mistake is returning to Meigu before repairing the Pipa. In that case, the mist remains in place and the Warrant cannot be collected. Another is taking the nearer opening, which leads to a different point in the area. The item is tied to the route toward the large building, through the entrance farther back; PowerPyx also places it east of the Bell.

If the mist is gone but you do not see the material, retrace the edge of the route after the entrance and look near the wall and bodies. The item does not appear as a boss reward screen; you need to interact with it on the ground. After picking it up, check your inventory to make sure the Six Paths Warrant is recorded before leaving the region or spending Remnant Dust on something else.
