Lost Ark launches Kazeros Finale Extreme on Korean server
Published on · Updated on
The October 21 weekly update adds a limited-time Extreme mode to the Finale raid, with three difficulties and rewards through November 18.

The Korean server of Lost Ark received the Kazeros Raid Finale Extreme this Wednesday (21), a limited-time version of the final confrontation against Kazeros. The content arrived with the MMORPG's weekly maintenance at Smilegate RPG and rebuilds Gate 2 of the Finale: The Last Day raid across three difficulty tiers — Normal, Hard and Nightmare — with rewards that include gold, event coins and both a Legendary and a Relic title. The participation window runs until the November 18 maintenance, when the event goes offline.
The launch of Finale Extreme closes a run of seasonal events that began on September 23 with Act 3 Extreme, and keeps the temporary-challenge model Smilegate uses to extend the lifespan of its newest raids. For players outside Korea, the main caveat is the calendar: the content described here is the Korean server's, which runs on a different schedule from the global and South American versions published by Amazon Games.
What changes with Finale Extreme
Finale Extreme is not a new raid. It is a reworking of Gate 2 of the Kazeros Raid Finale: The Last Day, with combat patterns and a difficulty curve tuned for eight players. Entry sits inside the Finale raid UI itself, behind an "Extreme" button, and requires the character to have completed the Trajectory of Fate Adventure Quest.
Item level requirements separate the three modes: 1,730 for Normal, 1,770 for Hard and 1,780 for Nightmare. Each roster gets one attempt per week, shared across all three difficulties — picking Nightmare consumes the week's entry and prevents testing the easier modes with the same group. Normal and Hard allow unlimited revives; Nightmare allows none, turning every mistake into the end of the attempt.
The structure mirrors Act 3 Extreme, which also ran three difficulties with one weekly entry per roster. The difference is the target: instead of Mordum, the group faces Kazeros again, in the same arena as the story arc that began in Ends of the Abyss. It is a competitive "revival" format aimed at rosters that have already cleared the original content and are chasing cleaner execution rather than story progression.
Rewards: gold, coins and selection boxes
The base payout follows the Act 3 Extreme logic. Defeating Kazeros in Normal grants 20,000 gold and 150 Coins of Light and Darkness; Hard and Nightmare pay 50,000 gold and 200 coins. Gold is credited as a clear reward regardless of whether the character is designated as a gold earner for the week — an important detail for players running a roster with three income-focused characters.
| Difficulty | Item level | Gold | Coins of Light and Darkness | Revives |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | 1,730 | 20,000 | 150 | Unlimited |
| Hard | 1,770 | 50,000 | 200 | Unlimited |
| Nightmare | 1,780 | 50,000 | 200 | None |
Beyond gold and coins, the first clear on any difficulty delivers a fixed progression package: Leap Legendary Card Selection Pack III, a Heroic Gem Selection Box, a Gem Processing Reset Ticket, 100 Coins of Light and Darkness and 1 Chaos Coin. These are high-value items on the Korean market, especially the Legendary card pack and the gem reset ticket, which usually appear only in major events.
Nightmare: 11 trillion HP and the Relic title
Nightmare concentrates the hardcore community's interest. The boss has 11 trillion hit points in Phase 1, a figure that circulated in streams from groups testing the content on day one. The first Nightmare clear grants 200,000 Gold Bullion, the Legendary title Lord of Ruin and an exclusive emote pack.
"First-clear rewards for Nightmare include 200,000 Gold Bullion and a Legendary Title. Adventurers who have cleared both Act 3 Extreme and Finale Extreme Nightmare will also be granted a Relic Title."
— Excerpt from Inven Global's report on the update
The Relic title is One Who Faced the End of the Abyss, awarded as an achievement reward to players who complete both Nightmares — Act 3 and Finale. It is the kind of prize that works as a season badge: it stays on the character after the event ends and signals to the rest of the community who took on the most punishing versions of the Kazeros arc.
Exchange shop and coin deadlines
Coins of Light and Darkness earned from clears can be exchanged for various items at the Kazeros Extreme crafting NPC in major cities. There is a catch, however: the Ancient Core Selection Box can only be crafted after the player clears both Act 3 Extreme and Finale Extreme. The restriction reinforces the event's chained-progression design and forces anyone after the most valuable item to complete both stages.
The expiry calendar also deserves attention. Lightning Coins, Coins of Light and Darkness and Chaos Coins can be used until the November 25 maintenance — one week after the raid ends. Anyone who leaves the exchange to the last minute risks losing the balance, since coin cleanup happens alongside the weekly update.
Why Extreme matters for the Lost Ark calendar
Smilegate's bet on Extreme modes is not new. The company has been turning its main raids into temporary, tiered-difficulty events with cosmetic rewards and titles that reward consistency. The move serves two purposes: it gives veterans a reason to return to content they have already mastered, and it adds a layer of competitive content without requiring a whole new raid to be produced.
For those following the game in the West, the reading needs care. The official 2026 roadmap for the Amazon Games version lists the Kazeros Raid Denouement: Extreme only for the end of the year, with the Act 3 Extreme raid arriving earlier. In other words, what the Korean server is playing now, on October 21, has no immediate date for the West — the gap between the two versions remains the main source of anxiety for the Brazilian community.
"Finale Extreme is limited-time content that adjusts combat patterns and difficulty based on Gate 2 of the existing Kazeros Raid 'Finale: The Last Day'."
— Inven Global's description, translated from the original Korean
It is worth remembering that Lost Ark is in a year of reorganization. Smilegate carried out server merges, adjusted the progression system and has been alternating major raids with return events such as the Mokoko Bootcamp. Against that backdrop, Finale Extreme works less as an expansion and more as an endurance test for the top of the roster — and a thermometer for what the studio considers acceptable difficulty at the end of the Kazeros arc.
What to expect until November 18
Until the maintenance that closes the event, Korean groups have four weeks to attempt Nightmare and secure the Relic title. The practical advice is to decide early which difficulty to attack: because entry is weekly and shared, switching between modes costs time, and Nightmare does not forgive execution errors. For those chasing only gold and coins, Hard tends to be the balance point between effort and return.
The end of the event on November 18 should make room for the next stage of the Korean calendar — historically, Smilegate tends to announce winter content only a few weeks in advance. Until then, Finale Extreme stands as the hardest challenge available in the game and as further proof that the Kazeros arc, closed in the story, keeps generating endgame content.
