GTA 6 will arrive on consoles with an adult rating in Europe: on October 2, 2026, PEGI published a detailed summary of the game's content — including drugs, sex and decapitation — and deleted the page the same day, but screenshots are already circulating in the press. Among the outlets that recorded the material are Inven Global, Forbes and PC Gamer. The launch remains scheduled for November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, according to Rockstar Games.

The summary PEGI published and deleted

The European ratings page stayed online for just a few hours, according to Inven Global. A search for GTA 6 on the PEGI website today returns no results, and neither party has commented as of the close of this report: PEGI has not explained the removal, and Rockstar Games has not addressed the wording. For that reason, the portal stresses that it cannot be confirmed whether the wording seen in the screenshots matches the final rating summary.

"features strong graphic violence, strong sexual themes, and use of illegal drugs"

The remaining descriptors, documented in screenshots preserved by users, are more specific than any Rockstar promotional material so far. And the leak gained momentum because of the tight window: the game launches in under two months, and Forbes counted about a month and a half to launch when it covered the case. The silent removal, without any statement, only increased the circulation of the images among the franchise's fan communities.

Drugs as an inventory item

According to the reported wording, drug use is described as frequent and prominent. The player can consume illegal substances straight from the inventory — and cocaine gets the most talked-about detail: it can be carried and snorted from the hand at any time. Consuming drugs alongside other characters also appears as a possibility in the text.

The summary, on the other hand, does not explain how the substances affect the mechanics — whether they change health, the way the world looks, or how missions unfold. The answer will come with the game, less than a month away.

The drug trade has always been part of Grand Theft Auto's DNA, from Vice City's illegal business to the smuggling operations in GTA Online. The difference here is the frankness of the wording: for the first time in a long while, a ratings board describes consumption by the protagonists in detail — a subject that Rockstar's marketing has not touched in the pieces published so far.

Violence with detailed decapitation

On the violence side, PEGI described blood with a high degree of realism. Certain weapons allow detailed decapitation and dismemberment, and the player can attack civilians, criminals, police officers and animals on the game's streets — the descriptors note that injuries to animals are shown with less detail than injuries to humans.

The level of detail caught the outlets' attention: real-time dismemberment effects do not usually appear in big-budget productions, and the direct mention of decapitation in an official text indicates that the feature exists and is visible enough to make it into the record. For Rockstar, this is the kind of content that is usually shown only in trailers edited by the studio itself, not on third-party pages.

Sex, nightclubs and language

The sexual content list includes nudity, sex scenes and occasional references to fetishes. In nightclubs, the player can pay for private dances and touch the dancers — a level of interaction that Forbes highlights as a step beyond everything the series has shown before. The summary also lists discriminatory language on the game's TV and radio, frequent profanity and in-game purchases.

Similar themes had already appeared in the franchise: GTA 5 kept strip clubs with paid interactions, and the PEGI text simply records the level of these elements in the new title. Curiously, the wording does not mention gambling — a descriptor present in the Red Dead Redemption series and in the PS5 version of GTA 5, as Inven Global recalls. The absence suggests the game may not have gambling systems, or that the descriptor simply was not part of the record consulted.

The ratings around the world

In practice, the label is the highest tier of the European scale: sales are restricted to adults, and physical retail and digital stores must display the label on the product page. It is not an unusual milestone for the series — GTA 4 and GTA 5 received a PEGI 18 at their launches. What is unprecedented is not the rating itself, but the public specificity of the descriptors, published and undone on the eve of the release.

In South Korea, Inven Global confirmed, in its own reporting, that the GCRB (Game Content Rating Board) decided on the Adults Only rating. The former ratings authority (GRAC) transferred that duty to the GCRB on November 1, 2025, and GTA 6 is the most prominent title reviewed since the change. In Korea, GTA 5 launched in 2013, likewise as an adult title.

What changes ahead of the November 19 launch

Rockstar's campaign so far has avoided spelling out this content, and the removal of the summary reinforces Forbes's reading that the company prefers to control what it reveals before the release. For consumers, however, the rating is no surprise: the series has always been made for adults, and the label tells you exactly where the limits are — and, as Forbes recalls, the purchase decision is up to parents.

For the Brazilian audience, preorders are already open, readers who want to cut costs can follow how to pay for the game with Microsoft Rewards through November, and the title anchors the console's calendar alongside Fable and the year's biggest releases.
