The highly anticipated original mecha anime Jyuō Mujin Dandivine (Beast King War God Dandivine) has officially set its release date for October 7, 2026. Good Smile Company announced eight renowned new voice actors joining the main cast, along with the broadcast channels that will air the production on Japanese TV.
Broadcasting begins on Tokyo TV, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV at 24:30 on October 7 (effectively the early hours of October 8, at 12:30 a.m. Japan time), with additional broadcasts confirmed on Chūkyō TV and MBS.
New voice actors strengthen the production
The official announcement revealed big names from the Japanese voice-acting industry. Among the new additions are Nao Tōyama as Haru, Aya Yamane as Natsu, and Misaki Kuno playing Aki.
The cast also features Asuna Tomari as Gō Sera, Katsuyuki Konishi as Yūsaku Kuroiwa, Ryōtarō Okiayu as Daigo Shijima, Atsushi Ono playing Genjūrō Shijima, and Ruriko Aoki as Yūga Shinonome. They join the previously confirmed lead trio: Takuma Terashima (Gekiha Shijima), Haruka Shiraishi (Akane Kuzumi), and Saya Aizawa (Kirei Shijima).
Story blends giant robots and corporate crisis
The story takes place 20 years after the giant robot Dandivine defeated the mysterious threat known as the Aposdoll, ushering in an era of global peace. However, the toy manufacturer Kasuga, which depended entirely on licensed products of the robot, has entered a severe financial decline.
Desperate to save the company, president Genjuro Shijima prays for the return of the legendary mecha, causing the Aposdoll to suddenly resurface. Faced with the new danger, student Gekiha Shijima receives a call from his uncle Yusaku Kuroiwa — the machine's former lead pilot — to take the controls of the iron giant and fight.
Acclaimed technical crew behind the scenes
The anime is directed by Yi Cao, in a collaboration between studios LIDEN FILMS and Kayac Animation. Script supervision and writing are handled by veteran Toshiki Inoue, known for emblematic work on Death Note and several series in the Kamen Rider franchise.
The original character designs are by Majiro (Macross Delta), adapted for animation by robin. Studio GOD BRAVE STUDIO, through designer An, is responsible for the robots' visuals, while Yoshikazu Iwanami (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) leads sound direction. Singer Takanori Nishikawa performs the opening theme.
The production marks the debut of The God of Combined Series (Gattaishin Series) lineup, created to celebrate Good Smile Company's 25th anniversary, and already has a manga adaptation running in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine by artist TOGUCHI.
