The turn-based tactics franchise Tiny Metal, clearly inspired by the classic Advance Wars, has just taken a giant leap. The game will receive an official anime adaptation titled Tiny Metal: Zero Line.
The news catches fans by surprise by bringing together heavyweight names from the Japanese industry. The animation is handled by studio SAFEHOUSE, known for the recent Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance.
Rounding out the elite team, the project is led by Hiroyasu Kobayashi, famous for his work as CG director on the iconic Rebuild of Evangelion film franchise from studio Khara.
##Secret screening and official preview
While plot details and the premiere date remain tightly under wraps, the project has already made behind-the-scenes moves. The pilot episode of Tiny Metal: Zero Line was screened behind closed doors during the Japan Expo event in France.
Despite the screening being restricted to event attendees, an official teaser for the project is already available on the game's YouTube channel, revving up anticipation for the global launch.
##The future of the franchise in games
Developed by studio AREA35, the first Tiny Metal arrived on PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2017, winning over fans of board-game-style digital tactics. In 2019, the franchise gained the sequel Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble.
The brand expansion does not stop there. Studio SAFEHOUSE was also put in charge of creating the animated scenes for Tiny Metal 2, the franchise's next chapter scheduled to reach PCs in spring 2027.
