Riot Games has confirmed K/DA and True Damage for the Worlds 2026 final opening ceremony on November 14, live from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Riot Games has confirmed, on Wednesday (21), the return of the virtual music groups K/DA and True Damage to the opening ceremony stage of the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds 2026). The performance is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Barclays Center, in Brooklyn, New York, moments before the grand final, with live streaming on the official LoL Esports website. The announcement was made by the official League of Legends account on X and reinforces the developer's push to turn virtual music into a centerpiece of the show that closes the MOBA's biggest tournament, which this year celebrates the final returning to US soil.

The official announcement and what was confirmed
The confirmation came through the official League of Legends account on X (formerly Twitter), accompanied by a promotional poster bringing the franchise's two musical acts side by side. According to the released material, the final's opening ceremony begins at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 7 PM GMT and is presented with Mastercard's patronage, the same partner behind the Riot's recent Worlds ceremonies.
Riot has not revealed, however, which songs will be performed or who will join K/DA and True Damage on stage. As of the publication of this article, no additional details about the line-up or special guests had been confirmed by the company.

K/DA's return after six years
Debuting in 2018 with the "POP/STARS" video, K/DA — formed by the LoL champions Ahri, Evelynn, Kai'Sa and Akali — is the Riot's most popular virtual group, with billions of plays across platforms. The line-up has not performed on a Worlds stage since its debut year, and specialized outlets treat the 2026 appearance as the group's third across world championship campaigns, after six years on artistic hiatus.
The return arrives alongside the new FIRESTARTER EP, a four-track release made in collaboration with DJ Sona, a character from the game itself. On top of that, this new phase of K/DA brings changes to the vocal credits: singers Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb take on voices in the group, which in this cycle has also headlined commercial actions, such as the collaborations with Uniqlo, 7-Eleven, Olive Young and Lotte covering the Worlds 2026 season.
In-game: K/DA skins and events
The party extends to the game itself. Patch 26.22, now live, introduced the K/DA FIRESTARTER skins for Ahri, Evelynn and Kai'Sa, plus K/DA Firestarter Akali as a Mythic Variant and K/DA Hitmaker Evelynn. The previous update, patch 26.21, brought the True Damage: Know My Name line and the ARAM Mayhem: Journey to Stardom event, a musical take on the ARAM mode, part of the sonic content wave distributed by Riot throughout the Worlds cycle.
True Damage and the final anthem dedicated to Faker
True Damage, the Riot's virtual hip-hop collective, debuted in 2019, in Paris, with the anthem "GIANTS", and brings together Akali, Ekko, Qiyana, Senna and Yasuo. This is the group's second appearance at a Worlds opening ceremony, now tied to the developer's larger campaign: the official Worlds 2026 anthem, "Know My Name", released in early October featuring SOYEON, Coco Jones, Vic Mensa and Sofía Reyes.
The track and video honor Faker and the legacy of T1, three-time world champion (2023, 2024 and 2025), elevating the pursuit of a fourth title to the status of narrative portrait of the Brooklyn final. The dispute, however, remains wide open: KT Rolster's perfect run showed that no favoritism is guaranteed until the trophy is lifted.
What to expect from the final in New York
Under the "THIS IS OUR MOMENT" theme, Worlds 2026 is played entirely in the United States: the Play-In happened in Los Angeles, between October 15 and 18; the Swiss stage and the start of the knockout phase in Allen, Texas; and the quarterfinals and semifinals run through November 8, in the same state, before the Brooklyn final. In total, nineteen teams from six regions — including Brazil, via CBLOL — fight for the Summoner's Cup between October 15 and November 14.
With the return of K/DA and True Damage, Riot consolidates an increasingly clear move in its esports strategy: extending the tournament's musical identity from the stream to the physical stage, the game and retail, uniting anthem, skins, events and collabs. New highlights of the show — guests, setlist and possible real-life artists — are expected to be announced in the coming days: keep an eye on our Games category so you don't miss any of it until the grand final.
