World of Warships Update 15.8: 11th Anniversary Event Brings Festive Rewards, Marlborough B Dockyard, and Brand-New Operations

A decade and a year riding the digital waves. On Wednesday, September 10, Wargaming rolled out Update 15.8 for World of Warships worldwide, officially kicking off the 11th anniversary celebration of the naval combat MMO that has kept millions of players managing fleets, studying ballistics, and fighting historic battles since 2015. The content drop is substantial and goes well beyond a simple change of flags: a themed port, an Event Pass with two reward tracks, a Dockyard with a British battleship, and even brand-new operations for those who prefer to start slow at lower tiers.

Maritime Parade Port and Free Anniversary Gift

Right after logging in following the update, captains are greeted by the Maritime Parade Port, a port installation specially decorated for the occasion, with commemorative banners and a festive atmosphere. Wargaming knows anniversaries are meant to be celebrated with gifts, and the free bundle available in the Armory after your first battle in the update is surprisingly generous:

  1. 11 days of Warships Premium Account — boosted experience and credits for almost two weeks
  2. "Happy Blastday" destruction effect — a special animation every time you sink an enemy
  3. "Blast & Bash" permanent camouflage — themed cosmetics for any ship
  4. 3x "Battle of Santiago de Cuba" containers — historical loot boxes with varied drops
  5. 3x "Red Steel Titan" Premium containers — a chance at rare items and exclusive flags

The gift requires no payment or special prerequisite: just complete your first match (in any mode) and claim the bundle directly in the game's Armory.

Event Pass: "11 Years of Glory"

The anniversary's main progression mechanic is the "11 Years of Glory" Event Pass, which runs across two reward tracks and stays active throughout the update — from September 10 to October 8, 2026.

Free Progression Track

  1. "11 Years of Glory" commemorative flag
  2. Themed commander delmar_83
  3. Permanent camouflages "Moonlight Wave" and "Radiant Wave"
  4. "Happy Blastday" destruction effect (for anyone who missed the Armory claim)

Premium Track (Admiralty Backing — 2,500 Doubloons)

  1. Special commander General Greenwood
  2. British premium cruiser Orion '44 (Tier VI) — exclusive to the pass
  3. Permanent camouflages "Cold Ray" and "Blazing Ray"
  4. New "Press F" destruction effect — an ironic nod to the gamer meme
  5. Permanent camouflage "Interdimensional Shift" for the battleship Zieten
Santuário tip: If you're on the fence about investing 2,500 Doubloons in Admiralty Backing, weigh the value of the cruiser Orion '44. Premium ships exclusive to event passes historically do not return to the permanent catalog, making them collector's items over time.

Festive Rewards (Festive Tokens) and Early Access to Kurama

The Festive Tokens system returns in full force. By completing combat missions with ships from Tier V through Tier X and superships, players earn tokens that can be exchanged in the Armory for a wide selection of items — but the star of the catalog is undoubtedly early access to the Japanese supercruiser Kurama, available for 11,000 Festive Tokens.

Beyond Kurama, tokens can also be converted into:

  1. Themed containers (including "Red Steel Titan" and "Battle of Santiago de Cuba")
  2. Economic bonuses and battle signals
  3. Research resources and premium credits

For the most dedicated captains, combining Festive Token missions with the new low-tier Operations creates a highly efficient farming loop, since Operations also award Event Pass points.

Dockyard: Marlborough B Battleship (Black Friday)

The Dockyard — the phased shipbuilding mechanic that has become a World of Warships staple — reopens its doors with the goal of assembling Marlborough B, the Black Friday version of the Tier IX British battleship Marlborough. The shipyard event consists of 28 phases, 23 of which can be completed through combat missions without spending Doubloons.

The original Marlborough was already known for its absurd artillery: sixteen 356 mm guns spread across four quadruple turrets, with a relatively snappy reload that makes up for the intermediate caliber. The B version keeps the same technical characteristics but adds the noir visual treatment of the Black Friday line — dark camouflage with gold accents that has become a coveted item among collectors.

Marlborough B Spec Sheet

  • Class: Battleship
  • Nation: British Royal Navy
  • Tier: IX
  • Main Battery: 4×4 356 mm guns
  • Standout Feature: High shell volume with a fast reload for the tier
  • Weakness: Vulnerable citadel and armor profile — positioning is key
  • Dockyard Phases: 28 (23 free via missions)

Three New PvE Operations for Lower Tiers

One of the most welcome additions in Update 15.8 is the three new PvE Operations dedicated to low-tier ships. Until now, Operations were almost exclusively mid-to-high-tier territory, leaving a gap for new players or anyone who simply wanted to relax with smaller ships in cooperative scenarios.

The new missions scale difficulty according to the tier of the ship used, allowing corvettes and light cruisers to take part in objectives such as convoy escort and coastal defense with challenges tuned to their firepower. Beyond pure entertainment, completing special missions within these Operations also earns extra Event Pass points — creating an alternative progression route for those who don't want to dive into more competitive PvP modes.

Holiday Convoy Remains Active

The Holiday Convoy event, which began in August and precedes the anniversary season, remains available throughout Update 15.8. Convoy tokens can be exchanged for ships, camouflages, and additional resources in the Armory, serving as a secondary reward track alongside Festive Tokens.

11th Anniversary Event Summary

  • Duration: September 10 to October 8, 2026
  • Free Gift: 11 days of Premium, camouflage, and containers after your 1st battle
  • Event Pass: "11 Years of Glory" with a free track and a premium track (2,500 Doubloons)
  • Dockyard: Marlborough B (Tier IX, 28 phases, 23 free)
  • Festive Tokens: Exchangeable for Kurama (11,000 tokens), containers, and bonuses
  • New Operations: 3 PvE scenarios for low-tier ships
  • Holiday Convoy: Remains active with parallel rewards

Update 15.8 reinforces Wargaming's dedication to keeping World of Warships one of the most complete and generous naval combat experiences on the market, especially during milestone celebrations. With overlapping reward systems — Festive Tokens, the Event Pass, the Dockyard, and Holiday Convoy — captains who stay active over the next four weeks will have the chance to build an impressive arsenal of ships, cosmetics, and resources without necessarily opening their wallets.
